Freedom Awards Will Honor Finalists

Click to see original imageThe finalists for the Freedom Awards will vie for the prestigious honor in several categories during a luncheon June 29.

The annual Freedom Awards Luncheon, co-sponsored by the Provo Area Chamber of Commerce and the America’s Freedom Festival at Provo, was started three years ago to honor citizens and organizations, primarily of Utah County, for their dedication and example of patriotism and community service.

The finalists in each area are – American Freedom Award: Kenneth Wayne Berkey, N. LaVerl Christensen and Oliver R. Smith; Outstanding Man: Ross B. Denham, Myron J. Fulrath, and Carlyle Harmon; Outstanding Woman: Carol B. Lambert, Ruth W. Melville, Jenniev Poulson; Senior Citizen: Don Machan, John Rulon Morgan, and H. Edwin Nicholson; Outstanding Youth; Nancy Heckmann, Tomoo Taguchia, and a tie between Matthew Holland and Erik Garold Davis; Outstanding Educator; Barbara Merrill, Joyce Nelson, and Edward A. Sandgren; Outstanding Neighbor: Albert V. (Roxie) and Mabel J. Childs, Barbara Jean Kinghorn, and Roy Peterman; Outstanding Business: Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHI), KDOT/First Media Corporation.
