Even the place where I am employed doesn&#8217;t want our bicycles parked anywhere near the building. Where are we supposed to park them where they will be safe?&#8221; Obviously more and more people are riding bicycles and the trend is likely to continue. While we have noticed a number of bike racks in the business areas, it is quite likely the reader has a very legitimate point. As a community, we are concerned with providing parking spaces for cars. Why not give more attention to safe places for bicycles? More racks to which a bike can be secured undoubtedly would reduce bike thefts, incidentally, The Herald suggests that the appropriate officials name a study team to assess the bike rack situation and come up with recommendations &#8211; including the need and who should provide the facilities. Bicycle racks may not be one of the city&#8217;s most pressing problems.
