\"Click<\/a>L.B. Tackett, publisher of The Daily Herald for the past 25 years, will retire July 1. He\u00a0will be succeeded as publisher in Provo by B. E. (Bye) Jensen, currently publisher\u00a0of The Herald Journal in Logan.<\/p>\n

J Frampton\u00a0Collins, advertising director at the Daily Herald, will succeed Mr. Jensen as publisher of the Logan paper.<\/p>\n

Mr. Collins will be succeeded in his Provo post\u00a0by Frank H. Newell, advertising\u00a0director of The News-Review\u00a0in Roseburg,\u00a0Ore. Mr. Newell arrived in Provo\u00a0today to take over the duties of his new position.<\/p>\n

Mr. Tackett, a veteran Utah\u00a0newspaper executive, has been active in numerous civic\u00a0service affairs\u00a0in Provo and in national advertising\u00a0and newspaper associations\u00a0throughout\u00a0his lengthy career. Following\u00a0his retirement, he and Mrs.\u00a0Tackett will continue their residence at 1525 Locust Lane, Provo.<\/p>\n

Mr. Jensen is a native of Ogden, where his parents now reside. He was graduated\u00a0from Ogden High School and then entered the service for a three-year tour of duty during World War II. For two years he was stationed in Italy angle France during military operations.<\/p>\n

Following\u00a0his discharge, Mr. Jensen returned to Ogden where\u00a0he completed his education\u00a0at Weber College.<\/p>\n

The new publisher\u00a0here was a member\u00a0of the advertising staff of the Ogden Standard Examiner\u00a0and then became advertising director of the Daily Inter Lake at Kalispell, Montana. Later, Mr. Jensen was named business\u00a0manager of\u00a0the Arizona Daily Sun in Flagstaff.\u00a0Five years ago he became publisher at The Herald Journal at Logan.<\/p>\n

Mr. Jensen has\u00a0served as first vice president and director of The Cache Chamber\u00a0of\u00a0Commerce in Logan, is a member of the American Legion, Benevolent\u00a0and Protective Order of Elks, 40 and 8 and is currently a director of\u00a0the Cache Training (day care) Center. He also is a member of Logan Golf and Country Club and the Logan Rotary Club.<\/p>\n

He is married in the farmer Nanette Christensen. They have four children, Chris, 12; Jeff, 10; Mike, 5; and Patti, 2.<\/p>\n

Mr. Newell has been advertising director in Roseburg since\u00a0February of 1981.<\/p>\n

Earlier he was on the advertising staff of the Capitol Journal in Salem, Oregon; from 1949-1960\u00a0he was classified advertising manager of the Union-Bulletin in Walla Walla, Washington.<\/p>\n

Mr. Newell has been active in the affairs\u00a0of the Western Classified Advertising Association,\u00a0having received\u00a0special promotional awards and recognition from that organization on three occasions.<\/p>\n

He is a graduate of Willamette University in Salem.<\/p>\n

Mr. Newell is a member of the Rotary Club in Roseburg, the\u00a0Elks Ledge and Beta Theta Pi.<\/p>\n

Mr. Newell and his wife, Susanne, have a married daughter, Georgi Sue Blake, and a son, Frank E. Newell, 13.<\/p>\n

Mr. Collins goes to\u00a0Logan with 28 years of newspaper experience.<\/p>\n

He started as a circulation collector and then moved into the advertising\u00a0field. He has held his present post in Provo for the past four years.<\/p>\n

Mr. Collins is married to the former Lucille Farley. They have four\u00a0children: Larry, 23; Marilu, 15, who\u00a0completed junior high school this year; Nell, 19, who has completed his first at\u00a0Brigham\u00a0Young\u00a0University; and will be leaving an a mission to Scotland this summer; and Carla June, 11, who has completed the fifth grade here.<\/p>\n

Mr. Collins has been an active\u00a0member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints.<\/p>\n
