Reflection
Eating at dining halls has shown me how much food we waste, and forced me to grapple with my own habits. I wanted to highlight the prevalence of this issue on three levels, locally, globally, and personally. I intended for the posters to be hung on city streets and dining hall walls, so I chose bright saturated primary colors in order to draw attention and stand out. Once viewed up close, the colors reinforce the surreal 3D imagery and unsettling statistics to create an uncomfortable mood. This mood combines with probing questions to encourage the viewer to feel troubled, and personally responsible for the statistics I present. Ultimately, I want viewers to leave uncomfortable enough to change their habits.
